Dan nu in grote lijnen de route die we gaan lopen.
Op 16 April na het Pelgrimsontbijt, gaan we rond 9.00u de deur uit.
De eerste etappe gaat naar Alphen a.d. Rijn, eigelijk al een forse tippel maar dit stuk moeten we zo snel mogelijk achter de rug hebben.
Onze eerste overnachting is bij leden van het genootschap van Jacob, daar hebben we natuurlijk wel wat mee nietwaar !!
Vandaar uit gaat het ongeveer als volgt: via Zwammerdam(dan zitten we op de Nederlandse Pelgrimsroute die in Maasstricht eindigd) lopen we naar Reewijk via de Vlist naar Schoonhoven en met het pontje de Lek over naar Groot Ammers.
Dan de Alblasserwaard door naar Boven Hardinxveld weer met het pontje over de Boven Merwede naar het land van Heusden en Altena via Woudrichem - Aalst naar oud Heusden.
Dan lopen we naar Drunen en zitten we in het mooie Brabant!!
Van Drunen naar Den Bosch om de katedraal te bekijken en een stempel te halen in ons pelgrimspas.
Hier is het plan om ons op te laten halen om nog even afscheid te nemen van familie en te slapen in Tilburg.
Vandaaruit de volgende dag weer en route naar Vught en lopen we via de Campina heide naar Vessem.In Vessem is een boerderij geheel toegewijd aan St Jacobus daar word je als pelgrim in de watten gelegd en kost een kopje koffie voor lopers veel minder dan voor fietsers!! daar gaan we dus van profiteren
Dan via Veldhoven naar Valkenswaard en ook hier vindt een ontmoeting plaats met familie en slapen we comfortabel in een lekker bedje.
Dan volgen mooie paden door boswachterijen en belanden we in het Noord-Limburgse Weert.
Van Weert naar Ittervoort(bekend van alle wateroverlast)-naar Ohe-Roosteren-Born (het witte dorp)-onder Sittard door naar Schin op Geul
Hier komen de kuitspieren in werking want er moeten heel wat heuveltjes genomen worden in Zuid Limburg.
Via Wijlre-Margraten-Bronsveld onder Maastricht door naar Vise (Belgie) en dan gaat de tocht voor ons echt beginnen.
De route door Belgie:
We volgen de route Via Mosana oftewel de Maasroute, deze gaat als volgt: Aix-Chapelle-Moresnet-Henri-Chapelle-Clermont-Thimister-Battice-Herve-Micheroux-Evergnee-Saive-Blegny-Jupille/Meuse-Liege-Angleur-Sart-Tilman-Esneux-Nandrin-SaintSeverin/en Condros-Villers le Temple-La Sarte-Huy-Saint leonard-Solieres-Andenelle-Andenne-Sclayn-Vezain-Marche les-dames-Jambes-Namur-Rocroi-Signy-L'Abbaye-Chateau Porcien-Reims-Chalons en Champagne-Vitry le Francios-Brenne le Chateau-Bar sur Seine-Tonnere (hier gaan we de grens over naar Frankrijk)!!!
De route door Frankrijk:
We lopen verder naar Auxerre op naar Vezelay.
Van hieruit komen we op de Camino. Vezelay is een verzamelpunt voor vele pelgrims uit allerlei windstreken, en daar is veel te beleven aan informatie en cultuur over de middeleeuwen/pelgrimage/kathedraal/en dat alles voor meerder eer en glorie van Jacobus hier zullen we enkele dagen blijven.Vanaf dit punt kunnen we de overnachtingen gaan plannen in refugio's, daar hebben we al van alles over gehoord, nu gaan we het beleven, ik heb in ieder geval oordoppen mee genomen want schijnbaar worden er hele bomen doorgezaagd s'nachts
Van Vezelay lopen wenaar Le Charite sur Loire-Bourges-La Souterraine-
Limoge-Perigueux-Saint Foy la Grande-Bazas-Mont de Marsan-Orthez-SaintJeanPieddePort en daar gaan we de Pirineos over naar Spanje.
De route door Spanje:
Als we de Pyreneen hebben bedwongen lopen we naar Pamplona-Logrono-Burgos-Leon-en dan hopen we medio Augustus in Santiago de Compostela aan te komen om aldaar onze pelgimage af te sluiten met het bezoek aan de kathedraal.
Aldaar gaan we de nodige rituelen uitvoeren en laten we boodschappen achter van mensen die dit aan ons gevraagt hebben.
Vervolgens halen we onze Compostela op dat is een soort certificaat waarop vermeld dat je de tocht volbracht hebt.
Onderweg halen we allerlei stempels op in een pelgrimspaspoort dit paspoort kan je ook uit de problemen helpen als we b.v. geen slaapplek kunnen vinden, op vertoon van je paspoort moet??!! men zich inspannen om je in ieder geval te slapen te leggen, we zullen zien !!
Dan gaan we naar Cabo Fisterra (het einde van de wereld) om de tocht echt af te sluiten.... en dan met de trein naar huis
